What We Do
The Congregation was founded exclusively for the upliftment and the liberation of the Poor. The Charism of the Congregation is “Upliftment of the Poor” and the Motto is “Service in Charity and Poverty”. The prime focus of our apostolate is the poor, marginalized, and downtrodden in society. The members of the community lead a very simple life and dedicate their human and material resources for the integral growth and the well-being of the poor with a special focus on women, children, and the destitute.
Infant Jesus Children's Home
This centre was opened on 24th March 2001. At present, there are 38 children. Some are going to school. By this time, 18 children have succumbed to the sickness. The medical care to the children was provided by various hospitals, such as St. John’s Medical College, Bangalore, Faran Nursing Home, Dr. Nagaraja’s Clinic at Hennur Cross, NIMHANS Hospital, and Bowering Hospital. More than anything, the children get maternal care, love, and affection, along with the best living facilities here in this home.
House of Mercy
This center was opened on 10th January 2005 for the ladies. There are 32 ladies admitted, among them 3 ladies died of the sickness. They are given care, better treatment, and nourishment, both spiritual and physical. They are encouraged by counselling and prayers. The ladies are occupied with their household works, work in the babies’ home like cleaning, washing their cloths, etc. Thus, they live a happy life in the House of Mercy.
Little Flower Home
A few of the children in the Infant Jesus Children ‘s Home were found HIV negative and were shifted to Little Flower Home. They were going for regular schooling. Now it is used for the youths and the children engaged in Vocational training.
St. Angela School - Little Stars
St. Angela School was inaugurated on 25th July 2008 by Rev. Fr. Mathew Perumbil, the director of Samastha project of our little flower home. The school was in the Little Flower home for 2 years till the construction of the new building. The school is under the National Open School System, where children are taught in a lonely atmosphere with special curriculum. The Rotary Club of Bangalore Cantonment agreed to build a school for the HIV infected children of Infant Jesus. Later, they withdrew their promise due to various reasons. Meanwhile, the late Mr. Mammen Jacob came for support. He took all the troubles and expenses to finish the construction. With grateful hearts, we remember Mr. Mammen Jacob, who in his generosity constructed St. Angela School for the HIV infected children of Infant Jesus.
The newly built St. Angela School was inaugurated by His Grace Most Rev. Dr. Bernard Moras, the Archbishop of Bangalore, on 27th March 2011, on the decennial celebration of Infant Jesus Children’s home. Sr. Berthalomia, the Superior General, Sr. Emestina, the Provincial Superior, the Councillors, many Priests and religious were present for the function
